This piece started off as a bit of “prank art” as I call it, whereupon I hide little collage bits and bobs inside the cover of manuals of the airplanes I fly- like video game Easter eggs.
Being in a male dominated profession, it’s common to find where others have hidden pics of scantily clad “babes”, and I have no problem with that- it doesn’t offend me or whatever, and it’s always funny to find a random magazine pic amidst technical jargon- but I do like a good set of chiseled man abs to balance it out for my female colleagues! Ironically those usually last only a day or two before some dude finds them, gets mad and removes it! But it’s all in good fun- I like seeing what new pics or stickers I can find tucked away on a long flight.
Anyway, I got this prank collage started and realized I liked it and it would be a shame to waste it, so I removed it and tucked it into my book for later. It sort of evolved after I got it home and onto a piece of paper.
As to the meaning, “lemons for sale” is the pop culture reference to the Beyoncé album Lemonade, if you aren’t into pop culture and it doesn’t make sense. Visually I just think it’s kind of funny and it stands on its own visual merit.

I love it! I want to find one of your easter eggs on a plane! It would be like Air-mailart. What a pleasure
I’m off to check out Lemonade now. I have been meaning to catch up on Beyonce’s back catalogue for a while, but will check it out with an eye to checking out the meaning not
