One of my heroes, Osamu Tezuka, the God of Manga, had a cast of recurring characters throughout his books, which he called his “Star system“. The characters would often play different roles, like actors in Hollywood and even drew up different prices they were paid to star in each of his comics. This is one way to reconcile the issue if you find yourself pondering the existential question of chickens in art playing different roles in your postcards
Oh my goodness me. This is a whole world about which I knew nothing. Thank you for the link. The inter connectedness is fascinating. I’m going to review the chicken cast I’ve been working with and see where that takes me.
Do you consider the chicken to be the same chicken in every postcard (barring the ones with different names I presume…?) or is each one different?
A very sophisticated question. Not necessarily the same – but – in this five yes the same one as it’s a little story about this particular chicken.
These could very well be Chicken Licken, Ducky Lucky, Draky Laky and Goosey Loosey, thus linking it to the previous 5
Whoever they are, they might just have to have their wits about them.

Sounds like you are going to have to take on some chicken “extras”!
