Meaning making: Inspired by poetry class
I am not poetry person, but I took Lendon Noe’s Meaning making inspired by poetry online class.
These are the pieces that I created (and mailed). I found the poetry by Rupi Kaur while she was interviewed on NPR. The old photos are immigrants waiting at Ellis island (found in https://digitalcollections.nypl.org/collections#/?scroll=60)
I try to be non-political in mailart, but this poem spoke to me because immigrants are controversial subject in various regions of the world in recent years. There are different sides of situations and arguments. But I simply wondered how each of them are affected on personal level, such as families being separated, or moving into unfamiliar countries, and what their struggles may be.
