This survey post is a bit late going out as Elena and I have been on holiday.
As it was late, I grabbed the first thing that came to hand as soon as Verity fell asleep, which was of course, the book I read her for her bedtime.
The book was called “Frog is a hero” and was written and illustrated by Max Velthuijs. Verity didn’t quite make it to the end of the book as it was a little rambly and she likes her stories a little more tightly paced.
Elena chose a more vibrant colour palette than the original pastel tones and was pleased to get to use the white pencil, which obviously doesn’t get much use on white paper usually. I was really pleased with the end result, which has a nice cosy feeling to it.
I’m off to make myself a nice cup of tea too now.
Nice one – and nothing like a hot beverage!
What a delightful piece, sometimes you just have to be inspired by what is there in front of you. I’ve just done two heads based on 80s songs on the radio! 😉
Ahhhhh, so cozy indeed! Hooray for tea, hooray for frogs, hurray for bedtime stories. A gem.
Thanks folks. We had great fun doing these Frog is a Hero pieces
