061a&b – Yellow billed Oxpecker cleaning Buffalos nose

By 19th July 2017Mailart

It’s been a while since we visited the Okavango Delta in this series, so here we are back again and it’s our old friends the Yellow-billed Oxpeckers that we met back in post 39, where he was spotted cleaning up a Giraffe’s fur.

This time around our friend is cleaning up a Bufallo’s nose. So far he’s not been spotted pecking any oxen. I think it’s time to reconsider the job description.

Oh yes, quite good—-I keep meaning to try this technique of part photo, part draawing. SO many fun things to try!

Thanks Jan. I love that this technique, like photography, makes me concentrate on the picture for a long time. I didn’t even notice the birds when I first glanced at this, but when I drew them I found them delightful. Glad I stopped to take the time to look at them and appreciate their character for a while
