Survey post on small white envelope, with colours by Elena in coloured pencil and lines by Andy in fineliner.
The Bee Orchid, once known as the Humble Bee Orchid is known as one of natures great mimics, with petals resembling bees, which emit a female bee scent to attract visiting male bees to pollinate them.
In Britain however, they don’t really need to do this as they self-pollinate. Keep an eye out for them in June or July.
Someone somewhere should be very happy to receive this one – lovely!
Indeed and I just listed some GB stamps on eBay which feature the Bee Orchid, not sure how to display them in the comments box or if you even can…..?
Unfortunately you can’t add images directly in WordPress comments yet. I have considered putting in alternative commenting systems like Disqus or Facebook comments but my experience of them in the past hasn’t been great, so for now I’ll just have to use my imagination
